Breastfeeding is the most rewarding, beautiful, and challenging experience in motherhood that I could have ever imagined. There are many factors that I like to say have been my life-savers in this whole breastfeeding world, especially as a new mom. Listed below, I am going to name my top 5 items that I have not been able to go a day without along my almost 11 month journey of exclusive breastfeeding. Disclosure : None of these items are sponsored or gifted, these are reviews based on my opinion.
1. ©The Boppy Company/U-Shaped Pillow

The biggest factor in any successful breastfeeding story is comfort. The Boppy has been the most used item of my breastfeeding journey, because of the comfortability that it offers for both Amara and myself. The Boppy is a U shaped pillow that helps Amara and I adjust to different feeding positions seamlessly during our feeding sessions, relieving tension and muscle aches that come with different positions of holding Amara. This pillow also is an item that has proven useful as Amara continues to grow, honestly one of the best inventions ever. It also helps that the ©The Boppy Company comes up with the cutest designs .
2. Haka/Silicon Pump

The silicone pump is a true asset for mothers who want to build up a stash as well as catch those droplets of milk that may normally be sucked up in a breast pad and wasted. This pump can be used on one breast while baby is feeding on the other. I was so late to the game with this one, but once I started to use the silicone pump I never looked back. These pumps can be found via retailers such as Target, Amazon, Buy Buy baby just to name a few.
3. Lanolin Cream

Lanolin cream or nipple cream is simply a must have. This product is used for cracked, sore nipples from breastfeeding all day and night. This cream/ointment is proven safe to use on nipples before and after baby feeds (will add links below for clarification). Honestly I do not believe I would have made it this far in my breastfeeding journey without it. The picture above is generic but lanolin comes in many different forms and may be found at many local drug stores and well as some of our favorite retailers as listed above.
Breastfeeding is absolutely magical and hard. Everyone is different, and the things that work for me may not work for you but I hope this is a good starter, if you have been skeptical about if any of these breastfeeding tools actually work. You got this mama!
